YouTube tells creators they can drop more F-bombs
YouTube has updated its monetization policies, allowing creators to use strong profanity, like the word "fuck," within the first seven seconds of their videos and still be eligible for full ad revenue. This marks a shift from previous policies, where such language could lead to limited monetization. The change addresses long-standing concerns from creators who felt penalized by stricter rules implemented in late 2022 and adjusted in early 2023. The previous policy limited ad revenue if profanity was used in the first 8-15 seconds of a video.
