Meta has officially launched direct messaging (DMs) on Threads, two years after the app's initial release. A dedicated messaging tab will now appear within the Threads app, allowing users to exchange DMs with mutual followers. Initially, messaging is restricted to users over 18 who follow each other or are mutual followers on Instagram. While group messaging isn't yet supported, Meta plans to introduce it in the future. The company also intends to add more customizable inbox controls in a subsequent update. These limitations could be a bit frustrating.
