TikTok's potential ban in the US may be averted through a sale that complies with the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. According to The Information, a deal involving a group of "non-Chinese" investors, including Oracle, is nearing completion. ByteDance, the current majority owner, would retain a minority stake. This deal would also involve a new, separate version of the app. However, the agreement requires approval from the Chinese government, which is also engaged in ongoing tariff negotiations with the Trump administration. The Wall Street Journal also reported on the developments earlier today.
