War-torn Sudan faces a critical health crisis as childhood vaccination rates plummet, according to the World Health Organization. In 2022, over 90% of young children received routine vaccinations; however, this has drastically fallen to just 48%, the lowest rate globally. This decline leaves Sudanese children increasingly vulnerable to deadly infectious diseases amidst what aid organizations describe as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis and escalating violence. The stalled global immunisation drive exacerbates the situation, posing a significant threat to the health and well-being of Sudan's children.
