Spotify is facing criticism for publishing AI-generated songs under the names of deceased artists without consent. A 404 Media investigation revealed that tracks, like one titled “Together” appearing on the page of the late country singer Blake Foley, are being released without approval from the artists' estates or labels. The song, attributed to a company account called Syntax Error, vaguely resembles Foley's style but features an image of someone who doesn't resemble him. This incident has ignited fresh outrage over the potential exploitation of dead musicians by AI technology on streaming platforms.
