Razer has announced the Razer Core X V2, a new external graphics processing unit (eGPU) enclosure that leverages Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. The Core X V2 is designed to house high-end GPUs from NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon, boosting the graphical capabilities of laptops and handheld devices. Razer claims Thunderbolt 5 offers twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4, although it remains limited compared to a dedicated desktop GPU connection. The Razer Core X V2 is slated to retail for $350, with a release date to be announced. This marks Razer's return to the eGPU market, having previously released the original Core alongside the Blade Stealth in 2016.
