The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) is rolling out Qi2 25W, the newest iteration of the Qi2 wireless charging standard. This update, already utilized in newer iPhones, promises up to 25 watts of power delivery, a 66% increase over the previous Qi2 platform. According to the WPC, this faster and more efficient charging is expected to drive wider adoption of wireless charging technology. While existing iPhones already support Qi2, the move to Qi2 25W isn't a major shift for Apple users. The standard is also anticipated to arrive on major Android smartphones.
