OpenAI has reinstated GPT-4o as the default large language model for paid ChatGPT users, VentureBeat reports. This follows the recent launch of GPT-5, which briefly replaced GPT-4o. OpenAI has also promised to provide "plenty of notice" before any potential deprecation of GPT-4o. Additionally, the company has increased the rate limits for GPT-5 Thinking to 3,000 messages per week, allowing users more extensive access to the advanced features of the new model.
