Meta has unveiled a prototype wristband that uses electromyography (EMG) to interpret electrical signals from forearm muscles. This technology allows users to control devices without physical touch, essentially turning gestures into commands. The system was trained on EMG data collected from over 10,000 individuals. The device, currently resembling a large wristwatch, enables actions like writing in the air and having the letters appear on a smartphone, demonstrating the potential for touchless interaction with technology.
