A new report documents widespread and systematic sexual violence in Tigray, Ethiopia, perpetrated by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces. The report, compiled by Physicians for Human Rights and the Organization for Justice and Accountability in the Horn of Africa (OJAH), details hundreds of cases of mass rape, sexual slavery, forced pregnancy, and sexual torture against women and children. Researchers reviewed medical records from over 500 patients and surveyed 600 individuals, concluding that these atrocities constitute crimes against humanity. The report warns that impunity for these crimes is allowing them to spread to other regions.
