Google is expanding its AI capabilities in the US, allowing users to utilize AI to make phone calls to local businesses. This feature, accessible through Google Search, enables users to inquire about pricing and availability at establishments like pet groomers, auto shops, and dry cleaners without direct phone interaction. Initially tested in January, the feature is currently limited to specific business types. Upon searching for a relevant service, a "have AI check pricing" prompt appears, prompting users to provide details about their request, which the AI then uses to gather information.
