Google's Pixel Watch 3 now supports precise Bluetooth tracking via a new feature called Channel Sounding, introduced with the Wear OS 5.1 update in March. This technology enhances the accuracy of locating other devices using Bluetooth. While the Pixel Watch 3 supports Channel Sounding, it's not yet functional as it requires multiple devices with compatible hardware. The feature leverages Bluetooth 6.0's improvements, announced by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) in September 2024. This upgrade moves beyond traditional Bluetooth applications like headphones, offering more precise location capabilities than relying solely on signal strength.
