A recent experiment tested the feasibility of running ChatGPT's open-source model on a smartphone. While technically possible, the experience proved largely impractical. The model's performance was significantly hampered by the phone's processing limitations, resulting in slow response times and limited functionality. This renders the offline, mobile version of ChatGPT effectively unusable for most practical applications. The test highlights the current limitations of running advanced AI models on consumer-grade mobile devices.
