Denmark is partnering with Microsoft and Atom Computing to develop what they hope will be the world's most powerful quantum computer. The project, called QuNorth, is funded by €80 million from EIFO and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Microsoft will provide its Azure Quantum software, while Atom Computing will supply hardware based on its neutral atom design. The system, named Magne, is projected to have around 50 logical qubits and is intended to be the Nordic region's first "Level 2" quantum system. The initiative aims to position Denmark as a leader in the global quantum computing race.
