In a study using mice, a single dose of zileuton effectively blocked food allergens from entering the bloodstream, thus preventing severe allergic reactions. This finding suggests a possible new therapeutic application for zileuton in managing and preventing anaphylaxis. Further research is needed to confirm these results in humans and determine the optimal dosage and safety profile.
