Comcast is launching StreamStore, a new hub integrated into its Xumo Stream Box and X1 devices, designed to manage streaming service subscriptions. The StreamStore offers access to over 450 streaming apps and channels, along with a library of 200,000 movies and TV shows for rent or purchase. Xfinity aims to simplify the fragmented streaming landscape by allowing users to add or drop channels and consolidate subscription payments onto their existing internet or TV bill, positioning itself as a central streaming service broker. This follows similar attempts by other telecom companies like Verizon.
