Researchers have identified a surprisingly diverse range of dance moves in cockatoos. A study revealed that ten out of the 21 known cockatoo species exhibit dance behavior. One particularly talented bird was observed performing an impressive 17 distinct dance moves, showcasing a level of motor control and creativity previously underestimated in these birds. This discovery highlights the cognitive abilities of cockatoos and provides further insight into the evolution of dance and rhythmic movement in the animal kingdom.
