New York City will now share real-time public safety alerts with users through the Citizen app, based on their location. Public safety agencies, including the NYPD, FDNY, and Emergency Management, will gain access to a portal to review user-shared footage on Citizen. This initiative is part of a verified partner program linked to Axon's Fusus platform, a "real-time crime center." Axon previously partnered with Ring, allowing law enforcement to request video footage from security camera owners in specific areas.
