The game VILE: Exhumed, previously banned from Steam, has been re-released as a free shareware title by its solo developer, Cara Cadaver. After facing a baffling ban with no appeal option, Cadaver has made the game available under a Creative Commons license. Players can download the game for free and donate to support her work. Half of all donations will be given to the Red Door Family Shelter, a Toronto-based charity aiding families, refugees, and women escaping violence. This move comes after Steam and Itch.io implemented new policies regarding adult content due to pressure from payment processors.
