Apple is reportedly planning to include two front-facing cameras on its next iPad Pro, expected to launch later this year with the M5 chip. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this addition aims to improve user experience by allowing for easier selfies and FaceTime calls in both landscape and portrait orientations. The second camera will be located on the portrait edge, providing flexibility in subject centering. This change addresses the previous issue where the single front-facing camera's placement, which shifted to the landscape side in the 2024 iPad Pro M4, could be inconvenient for users primarily working in portrait mode.
