Apple is continuing its legal battle to overturn the ban on its Apple Watch blood oxygen sensor. The feature was removed in 2024 after the International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled in 2023 that Apple violated patents held by Masimo, a health tech startup. The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit heard arguments from both Apple and Masimo on Monday. Apple argues that Masimo's development of its own smartwatch at the time of the Apple Watch Series 6 release shouldn't be grounds for the ban. Masimo maintains its stance that Apple infringed on its patents. The appeals court has heard the case.
