A recall has been issued for approximately 24,000 batteries sold with VIVI e-bikes due to safety concerns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall after at least 14 incidents of overheating batteries, including three reported fires. The affected e-bikes were sold online through retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and AliExpress, priced between $365 and $950. Owners are urged to immediately stop using the e-bikes as the lithium-ion batteries pose a risk of serious injury or death. The recalled batteries likely lacked UL safety certifications.
